Dr. Bean has training in a variety of courses outside of her schooling to learn state of the art therapies to alleivate acute and chronic pain.
She would be delighted to assess your condition to see if any of the therapies she offers, would be of value to you.
These therapies include Myofascial release, Neural Prolo therapy and Neural Therapy.
Myofascial therapy is a treatment to use to stretch the myofascia, which can be responsible for pain throughout the body. Fascia is what wraps around our muscles and works to help tell the brain when to engage our muscles through use of receptor sites. When it become tight or bound in trigger points, we feel pain. Dr. Bean will help release this pain through manually releasing these tight areas and encouraging blood flow.
Neural Prolo Therapy
Neural Prolotherapy an effective treatment for most injuries and chronic pain. The treatment involves injections just under the skin with sugar and water (dextrose or mannitol) while using a very small needle.
The hypothesized mechanism of NPT is believed that dextrose and mannitol solutions assist in the repair of connective tissue in the nerve trunks under the skin in a similar way as repairing connective tissue in ligaments and tendons with Classical Prolotherapy. These nerves are known to be responsible for painful conditions generally identified as ‘neuralgias’ or ‘peripheral neuropathic pain’.
There are a variety of conditions NPT is valuable for. One of them is treating the achilles tendon along with tennis elbow, painful knees, shoulders, neck, hips, ankles and low back. Results are consistent and two year follow up studies have shown success rates between 80-100%, while NPT is less invasive than Classical Prolotherapy.
Neural therapy is an excellent treatment for chronic pain and illness by activating healing in the nervous system.
Treatment involves injections of a local anesthetic into trigger points, scars, glands, peripheral nerves and other tissues. The process of healing is by normalizing the illness-related dysfunction of the nervous system.
